Space-Time Grid

Potential Project Proposal

A grid suspended from the ceiling at head height.  Each of the four walls in each small box contains a photograph.

Moving along one axis of the grid moves you through space - for example, perhaps each of the five boxes depict images generated from 5 different locations on Maine Street.  Moving along this axis allows you to move from the intersection with Bath Road to Fort Andross.

The other axis is temporal - moving from box to box the images stay in the same location, but move through time.

Scale could be adjusted or nonlinear. This project could be expanded to factors other than space and time, but physically moving between the boxes lends itself to both of these dimensions.

Potential Problems:
     - Universal head height? (perhaps it could be adjusted depending on the viewer's height)
     - How close is too close for visual comprehension?
     - Lighting
     - Installation space
